3–4 September 2013 Conference "Adaptation to Climate Change in the Baltic Sea Region", Riga

The conference "Adaptation to Climate Change in the Baltic Sea Region" is a further step towards the political endorsement and the implementation of the Baltic Sea Region Climate Change Adaptation Strategy and its accompanying Action Plan. It will bring together policy makers across all levels, scientists and other stakeholders dealing with climate change adaptation in the Baltic Sea Region and beyond.


3-4 June 2013 PartiSEApate project pan-Baltic stakeholder workshop: Maritime Spatial Planning as Tool for Underwater Cultural Heritage Management

The preservation of cultural heritage has been identified as an issue for which currently no BSR country has developed sufficient planning policies regarding its maritime space. A particularly hot topic is the research and protection of ship wrecks, which bear high historical and scientific value. More information 

14 May 2013 PartiSEApate project pan-Baltic stakeholder workshop: Climate Change Adaptions and MSP in the Baltic Sea, Skanör

This workshop was aimed specifically at the implications of climate change on the sea and coastal areas for maritime spatial planning: Which marine/maritime uses might be most affected by climate change? What are possible effects of climate change on important habitats and biota? What kind of coastal protection measures are foreseen to be necessary in the future? What kind of strategies exist at pan-Baltic as well as national and regional levels for climate change adaptation? Which recommendations does the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region flagship project BaltAdapt provide? More information
